Bagagiste is the result of the quest for the perfect travel bag. Guillaume d’Hommée and Alex Lehnerer – friends, frequent travelers, product manager and designer – had yet to find the ideal one, the ideal travel companion beside themselves. A bag that would be functional and stylish. Together the business economist and the architect crafted their first prototype on a Christmas Eve in Berlin.
This first prototype was made out of paper and cloth, held together with staples and some yarn. Several prototypes and an intensive development process later their vision became reality – an elegant bag reduced to its essential design lines. A bag that would combine the benefits of a suitcase and a bag, and make traveling easy again. The name was just an extension of this clear vision: someone who carries the burden of your luggage is called ‘le bagagiste’ in France.
